Renting a room here, step by step.
If you are in Lisbon, come and see the room. If you are still abroad, you do not need to be here to rent one: the viewing happens on a live video call instead. Either way you sign a written contract and talk directly to Miguel on WhatsApp. No agency, no booking fees.

Five steps
From first message to keys
Every step happens before you travel, except the last one.

Pick a room or join the waiting list
Browse the rooms. If the one you want is occupied, join the waiting list and you hear first when it frees up.

Viewing, in person or by video call
If you are in Lisbon, come and see it. If you are not, we do a live video call on WhatsApp instead — you see the room, the flat and the street, and ask anything you want.

Written rental contract
You sign a written rental contract with Miguel and Sandra.

Deposit by bank transfer
Once the contract is signed, you pay the deposit by bank transfer. The room is then yours.
One month of rent, returned within a week of you moving out.

Keys in person
On the day you move in, one of us hands you the keys and shows you the flat. If you are travelling to Lisbon, we meet you when you land.

Written rental contract
Signed by you, Miguel and Sandra before you pay the deposit. It sets out the rent, the deposit, the start date and the minimum stay.

Deposit terms
The deposit is one month of rent, paid by bank transfer once the contract is signed. It comes back within a week of you moving out.
One monthly price
What the rent includes
The price on each room page is the monthly rent. Bills and weekly cleaning are included in it.

Bills included
Bills are part of the rent: you pay one amount a month.
Water, electricity, gas and internet are all covered.

Weekly cleaning included
Once a week, someone comes to clean. You do not organise or pay for it.
In a shared flat that means the common areas: kitchen, bathrooms, toilets and living room. In a whole apartment it means the apartment.
There are no agency or booking fees on top.

Timing
How long it takes
There is no fixed timeline. We reply within 24 hours on WhatsApp, and we agree a time for the viewing — in person if you are in Lisbon, on a video call if you are not.
After the viewing, if you want the room, you receive the contract to sign. Once it is signed and the deposit has arrived, the room is held for your move-in date.
